‘The Crowded Room’ Is Tom Holland’s Thrilling New Miniseries

Although he's landed a few major roles in recent years outside of his time as Sony/Marvel's Spider-Man, Tom Holland has yet to truly break out of his role as the friendly neighborhood superhero. He's tried with Devil All the Time, and the less warmly received Cherry and Uncharted, but many would make the case that he hasn't quite found the right job to show off his acting range.His newest bet is The Crowded Room, a limited series from Apple TV+.

Alongside, Emmy Rossum, Amanda Seyfried, and others, Holland stars as Danny Sullivan, who is arrested in 1979 for his involvement in a New York City shooting. Through a series of interviewers with an interrogator (played by Seyfried), Danny reveals his role in the shooting, but also learns more about his own life, which involves an unsettling realization.

The series is based loosely on The Minds of Billy Milligan by Danny Keyes, which follows the real-life story of Milligan, who, after a series of violent crimes, became the first person in the U.S. acquitted due to his dissociative identity disorder.

Filming the miniseries took a toll on Holland, who says he's now taking a year off for his mental health, according to Variety. Regardless of how the show is received, it sounds like Holland gave his all for his performance as Sullivan, and The Crowded Room could potentially earn him praise for his role.To ensure you won't miss a single episode of The Crowded Room, we've got an official release schedule for the entire miniseries.
